Visit of Chef Massimo Bottura

On November 19th 2018 at the Presidential Palace of the Dominican Republic I was happy to meet the Italian Chef Massimo Bottura, holder of three Michelin stars, on such day he was awarded by the Dominican Republic Vicepresident Margarita Cedeño , the medal “Bien por ti”. We all discussed new initiatives to fight hunger and malnutrition in DR.



Conference with the General Directorate of Border Development of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic.

On September 22nd, in the city of Montecristi we sustained a conference on Columbus and his arrival in the Americas. This event was part of the celebrations of the 120 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and the Dominican Republic and was possible thanks to the collaboration of the General Directorate of Border Development of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic.

Signing of the agreement between the Dominican Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Research (IDIAF) and the Italian Council for Agricultural Research and Agrarian Economy (CREA)

On September 5th I witnessed the signing of the Agreement between the Dominican Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Research (IDIAF) and the Italian Council for Agricultural Research and Agrarian Economy (CREA). With this agreement the IDIAF and CREA will participate in joint projects on agricultural development.
CREA is the main Italian research body with scientific competence in the agricultural, forestry, nutrition, fish farming and socioeconomic sectors, with a focus on the agri-food sector and reports directly to the Italian Ministry of Agriculture.
Rafael Pérez Duvergé, director of IDIAF and Salvatore Parlato, president of CREA, were present at the signing of the agreement. He was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugo Rivera, The Dominican ambassador in Rome, Alba Maria Cabral, and Fabio Frías from the IDIAF.
